Food Habits

I’m terrified of being called a picky eater. I’m allergic to egg and have to be super careful what I eat. – I don’t want a trip to A&E. I sometimes worry that I come across as picky, when I have to ask for no egg or has that touched egg. Honestly, it’s not because I’m picky, I just don’t want to die.

Now a lot of people call vegetarians picky but honestly I really admire them! I mean, just think how hard it is for them! – They can’t eat bacon. Only joking, but it must be super hard, as they have to check everything before eating it. They have to make sure there is no traces of animal in it. Like how me and you can eat Harribo, they can’t, it has geletene in it (meat juices). Restaurants! That must be awful. They can hardly eat anything. Most of the time all they have for veggies is risotto or salad. – Not imaginative, I mean come on. They eat enough salads! I went to London with 2 of my friends who are veggies, we went to a vegetarian restaurant – I must say, it was the most delicious food I’ve ever eaten! So much flavour!

It makes my blood boil when people say that they are vegitarain but eat fish. – Er, NO. YOU ARE NOT VEGGIE. you are what we call pescitarian! Some of you are going go correct me but fish no matter how you look at it is an animal and a form of meat. – Being so close to 2 veggies, I can tell you know people that are like this annoy them.

Vegans. Now I’m a little opinionated about them. (I don’t want to offend anyone) but how do you stay away from cheese and milk? I just don’t understand it. I respect your decision as it’s something you believe, however cheese is my life. I couldnt give that up. Ever.

Then you have the genuine picky eaters. I hate kidney beans. Whenever someone makes me chilli (yes I know it’s not chilli with kidney beans), I will pick out all the kidney beans and give them to my boyfriend. I also won’t eat gurkins. If I have a McDonald’s, I take them out of the cheeseburger and give them to my bestie. – My bestie. She doesn’t eat steak, she hates it. She also won’t eat bacon unless it’s been cooked a certain way. –  My 2 sisters, they hate the egg yolk and will cut if out and give it to my dad.

At the end of the day, there isn’t a right or wrong way to eat. I don’t think labelling people ‘fussy’ or ‘picky’ is right. We all eat differently. We all gave different preferences and taste buds.

Eat whatever you want to eat. I’m fussy and I’m proud of it!

Much Love,
