Puddles

So, over the last 2 months I’ve had so much wonderful news it’s incredible.

2020, seems to have held some amazing new events for many of my friends and colleagues. Not 1, not 2, not even 3 but 4 people in my life have announced there pregnant. At least 2 people have announced that they are engaged and 1 person has announced that they have got a puppy … (can you guess which one I’m most excited about? …) – Trick question, I’m excited about all of them.

Like I said, it does have me thinking about my own life. I mean, I’m 23, 24 in a couple of weeks and I feel like I’m just plodding through life. I mean the only thing I can announce is that last Thursday I got new wellies. I will however say that they are absolutely amazing. – Is this what I have to look forward to these days? Excited about wellies? Next thing you know I’ll be excited about buying a hoover. Gosh that would be me truly adulting.

Anyway, so I had my new wellibobs and had to try them out. Luckily living in England the weather of course was raining, no surprise there. Although it did mean that I could try my new wellies out! So I wrapped up in my big red coat (just like little red riding hood), my wholly hat on and my new wellies.

It was absolutely chucking it down with rain and I loved it. Theres something so calming and therapeutic about walking in the rain. I feel so connected and calm in it. My music blaring, feeling the rain patter against my cheeks, its just beautiful – Its the little things guys that make me feel happy in life.

I know what you’re all thinking, did I jump and slash around in the puddles and my answer is … of course I did. I mean I’m 23 almost 24 and I jumped in the puddles and had an amazing time whilst doing so. If you can’t have fun whilst walking in the rain then quite frankly your boring and have a dark soul. I must admit, I must’ve looked hilarious to passers by and people driving home from work but at least I’m enjoying myself.

So just to recap, I have a load of friends that are adulting in ways, such as becoming a parent, buying a house, getting engaged. Then there’s me, so happy with my new wellies and dancing in the rain.

We are all winning in our own ways.
